Next turn action on nav one step ahead - Is this normal?

Just picked up my 2014 GC Overland about two weeks ago. I love it so far but I have noticed something strange with the nav (8.4N 19.28).

The left/right/straight indicator in the upper left corner of the nav is displaying one step/turn ahead of the next action/turn that I need to make.

For example, I'm on the freeway with my next exit on the right coming up in 0.5 miles. The voice prompt will tell me to exit on the right, and the map will show to exit on the right, but, the next turn display is showing a left hand turn 0.5 miles away. That's because I will need to take a left after exiting. I have found that this is because it is showing one step ahead of my next action.

Really strange and confusing. With still one turn to make before my destination it will show the proper distance to the final turn, but it will display the checkered flag instead of the arrow.

Has anyone else experienced this?

I haven't noticed that behavior but I can check it out today on my Jeep. That's really odd

can you take a picture??

What i see in the upper left is the "Lane" marker... nothing about a next turn?

Do you have an RA4, or an activated RA3?

On the RA4 I get an arrow and miles to the next turn.

I will take a picture when I get a chance.

I have the RA4. Mine lists miles to the next turn too, but the arrow shows the turn after that.

Here are a couple of pictures of what is happening with my nav.

This first picture is showing in the upper left corner that I should be making a right turn in 100ft onto Iowa String Rd. However, if you look at the map (which is showing my current position correctly), it correctly indicates that my next turn is indeed in 100ft, but it's a left turn and not onto Iowa String Rd. The Iowa String Rd. turn will be the following turn.

This next picture shows that I am on Iowa String Rd. The upper left of the nav indicates that my destination is ahead in 400ft. But again, the map shows that I clearly need to make a right turn in 400ft, then (I know) my destination is about one mile ahead.

I don't think the engineers intend that the nav work this way. Or am I nuts?

Hope this helps...mine is NOT like yours. It acts like you and I would expect it to. 8.4 AN , 13.28.2

Both top left indication on the 8" screen and the EVIC tun indication are in sync and display the next turn.

I tried looking at options that might give you the "advanced turn" like on yours, but nothing.

Good luck,
Al

Thanks for the help Al. Looks like I'll need to have the dealer look into it.

mine does not look like that either.. very strange.

tried it yesterday.. i have the arrow, but it shows the next turn. The green bar is more solid, and just under the next turn it has a lane indicator. also, the map itself looks different (but i have mine in 3d view)

Mine works as expected. Yours seems to have a glitch.

That does not prove that you are not nuts. :D

Sitting here at the dealership waiting for my GC to get its headlight fixed and they're looking at the nav.

The service guy just came out and said I have a bad module and will need to replace the radio. He said there is a newer software version coming to the dealership in December, but they are going to put that new version in my GC. It's on order and won't be here for a couple of days.

I guess I wait and see what version that is and if it is much different in any other ways.

I'll report back.
