Dash lights up with hand on door latch but no key fob
Went out to make sure the cars were locked (garage undergoing rearranging so they get to rough it tonight). When I put my hand on the door handle on the 2014 Overland, the dash lights illuminated. I stood there a few seconds and the dash lights went out.
At first, I thought I might have had the fob in my pocket or maybe the fob range was longer than I thought, but when I tried again to see if the door would unlock, it stayed locked.
Got me to wondering why Jeep might think there is value in having the dash light go on when someone who does not have a fob touches the door handle. I could understand if the dash lights were accompanied by a booming voice saying, "The next thing you will feel is 15,000 volts", but otherwise, I don't get it.

Thats just the Jeeps way of telling you that you don't have a key fob.
I like the 15,000 volt idea though but it should zap anyone that doesn't have the fob on the first try.
