Stereo Volume Relatively Low

I have a 2014 Limited with the 9 speaker (plus subwoofer) sound system.

I noticed that the volume of it tends to be relatively low between 0 -30 on the Jeep's volume scale. Its only around 34-36 that it starts to sound pretty loud but not nearly as loud as it should be for a 9 speaker system.

Has anyone noticed anything similar or fixed the problem for themselves? I have already played with the EQ and all the audio settings unless there is something I missed. Thanks!

My stereo is plenty loud enough for me. Different strokes for different folks though. I don't need it to be loud enough for people a block away to hear it with my windows up. I will say that your source will effect loudness. Sat. radio pretty much sucks in any car I've owned. High bitrate on an SD card seems to be the best sound quality I get.

just make sure your audio quality is good...high bitrates. My XM isnt "Loud" until 30, but my SD and Bluetooth start to get "loud" around 20

I have to even reduce the bass in my jeep... It was way too boomboomboom....

I did that also. FM and SD are my sources of choice. Anything over 20 starts sounding loud to me.

OP - I'm not sure it would make a difference, but do you have the 'adjust volume with speed' turned on?

I never thought about the source of the audio. I mainly use XM and have yet to try SD, that should probably make a huge difference.

I have the speed controlled volume turned off. Not a fan of that feature. Thanks everyone

XM is DEFINITELY too low. But FM HD sounds great.

Do you prefer SD card over flash drive? Want to load up one or the other for my new 2014, but this is not my area of expertise.

Ditto. I did notice that XM not that loud though.

When I found out there was no hard drive to record music from the nonexistent cd player, I had an SD card handy. If I had a USB drive handy I would have used it.

The sd card is 32 gb and is more than adequate for my needs.

When using the SD card, how is the sorting? Is it one big folder that you have to flip through 1000 songs to get to the one you want to hear?

When I loaded the sd card using Window Media Player, it put each song in its album, even if I only had one song from the album.

On your radio you can choose to sort by genre, artist, album ...

And, since you will want to keep your eyes on the road, you can use voice commands to play whatever you want. ;)
