Bushwacker Fender Flares Installed on my WK2!

As I promised in this thread about the RRO leveling kit and the Pro Comp wheels: http://www.jeepgarage.org/f42/new-rr...tml#post862364

I finally got my Bushwacker flares painted and installed! A quick backstory before I get to the pics...

Two Novembers ago I was at the SEMA show, the day after I picked up my 2012 Grand Cherokee Laredo X. I was very surprised that there was really nothing for the WK2. Then Last November I was at the SEMA show again and as soon as I walked into the truck area, there it was...a WK2 in the Bushwacker display sporting a prototype of their new fender flares. BAM...I knew I had to have them. It was the white one in the pics that you have seen here in other threads. I chatted with the guys at the display, got their business cards and promised to keep in touch. They were pretty cool.

Finally, they were released and I had some sent to me. I was pretty busy for most of this summer, but I managed to get them to my buddy's body shop (JimTech in Clinton Township, MI) to have them shot with factory body color (in my case, Chrysler code PS2). I got them back a few days later and last weekend I spent a bit of time installing them while the weather was still nice.

There are no permanent modifications made (the bolts are for visual only). It is basically assemble the bolts and adhesive strips to the flares, pull the factory wheel well well trim off, and put the assembled flared on using the supplied hardware in the factory mounting locations. I seriously took my time (stopped for lunch and slugged down a pot of coffee) and I think it took me around 3 hours but I know I could have done it in 2.

Here's the pics...

Instructions (very thorough and simple to follow)

When I put the Pro-Comp wheels on (see other thread mentioned above), I had to get used to them sticking out a bit. It didn't look bad...but they stuck out more than stock for sure.

These Bushwacker flares fix that perfectly as you can see in the pics above. The stick out just a bit more than factory to complement the wheels. I have to admit, it might look a better with aftermarket wheels with a bit of an offset than stock...but that it just me.

The quality on these are great, the fit is tight and as good as OEM. Heck, I think this would look good as an OEM option. I am really happy with how they turned out. I was considering buying black bolts to replace the silver one, but I kinda like how they match the bolts on the wheels.

I like the so much that I am going to put a set of Bushwackers on my Suzuki Samurai project as well (see sig). :)

it looks good for what you are going for! I mean I would never assume someone would put them on a summit, but looks great for your style!

Those look great. I think they would look even better without the fake bolts.
Do they make them w/o the bolts?

I think the bolts work for his look, but I don't think bushwacker makes a flare w/o the bolt.
It would be nice though..

I will be talking to them again this year at SEMA, so I will see if they have plans to make them without the bolts.

Those came out nice, looks like your body shop did a good job matching up the paint color.

My guy does a lot of work for Chrysler here in the Detroit area. Ever seen the Ferrari edition Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8?

He did the paint work on at least one of them. I don't recall if he did the other one.

So he has the exact paint codes and mixes. I don't take my custom work to anyone else.
