2k14 - steam coming from hood when windshield washer applied

so... just throwing this out there. a week ago I pulled out of a parking lot - and hit the windshield washer button -- simultaneously -- steam/smoke or whatever came billowing out of both sides of the hood - i swear I though the care was catching fire. At that pint I didnt realize the steam was related to me washing the windshield... afterwards - in the last few days I have realized that when depressing the windshield washer - steam comes out of the engine compartment.

I havent opened the hood - im thinking there is a leak in the hose and its squirting on the engine block.. has anyone see this new sick issue?

Also -- pet peeve -- the washer squirters mounted on the hood -- is leaving drips of washer fluid on the hood. A good deal of droplets also.

Just shouldnt be that way - forboth occurences. Minor - probably.

thoughts?

thanks

I have yet to try the w/s washers or the headlight washers. Come to think of it, since I've now had the Summit for over 6 months, the only time I turned on the wipers was right after I washed it. We havn't gotten any rain around here since February. I'll have to try the washers next time I wash it and see if I notice any steam coming out from under the hood. If so, I'll let you know.

My 2012 did the same thing once last winter. It has not done it since. I am sure there is a small leak in the pipes that lead up to the spray nozzle. In my case, steam came from the front of the Jeep.

I tried looking for leaks and found none. Since it has not done it again, I did not pursue it further.

Cheers,
