Whither Updates...?
 
In various threads in this forum I've read about owners taking their Jeep to the dealer and having the dealer install updates that impact engine or transmission performance. I recently asked my dealer if there were any updates that I had missed and should I take my Jeep (2014 GC Limited) in for service. He advised me that if there were updates for my vehicle Chrysler would contact me.

Huh?

Is that the general understanding among you owners out there?

for recalls yes, but not really for basic updates!

I had to mention the specific updates to the dealership (transmission and 13.19 radio updates) when I brought my 2014 GC V6 Limited 4x4 in last week for warranty work. They even called me at work a couple hours later and asked me what exactly was I experiencing. "Hard downshifts into 2nd & 1st for the transmission, and freeze-ups on the radio" I told them.

The dealership eventually did the updates...work order states they even "verified" the issues I was having with the tranny & radio.

Just sounds like a normal response from a dealership that doesn't want to do any warranty work since it pays less than the normal labor rate.
