My first hand views (TrailHawk)

The State Fair of Texas has 3 Cherokees in the showroom. One is up on the pedestal (Limited) and 2 others are on the floor where you can sit in them and look them over. (Lattitude and TrailHawk) Unfortunately I was not able to drive one.

I am 5'11" and 270 lbs. I am a big boy. Since I ordered a TrailHawk that is where I spent all of my time. It was loaded with everything (including sun roof). I sat down and the seat was immediately comfortable. I sat there for about 10 minutes checking out the layout and never felt like I needed to change positions. All controls are within easy reach of the driver. Since it was inside a building, the battery was disconnected so I could not play with the drivers seat or instrument cluster.

The interior is really nice. They definitely stepped it up a notch or 3. Even my wife was impressed with the interior and she is a car snob.

Visibility was good all the way around even looking out the rear window. You would be hard pressed to see anything right behind you so the backup camera will be handy. The side mirrors are large enough that you can easily see the traffic to both sides.

Even with the seat set where I was comfortable in the front, I could still sit comfortably in the rear seat. I did not check to see if the rear was all the way forward or back though. I only had about 1/2 to one inch of head room while sitting in the back. Without the sun roof there would have been much more.

Cargo room in the rear was good. I think you would be able to put golf bags back there, or a good bit of luggage. I did not think it was small in any way. I did not put the seats down.

So far I am liking it more and more. Unless it just drives terrible, I don't see me changing my mind about buying one.

You don't sit in the back seat
So head room is not an issue

The pics I took are not much different from the ones available on the internet. I was using my cell and had to delete several that were no-good.

Exterior: The paint is metallic and looks much better in person.

Interior:

There is a good bit of cargo room available back here.

These seats are REALLY comfortable.

The Flash washed out the color of the leather. The one below shows the true color but is just a little fuzzy.

Underside:

On the Trailhawk, all the vital crunchy bits are well protected. The only issue I had was with the exhaust. It is tucked up between the skid plates but is still exposed to pointy objects. The rear muffler is also semi exposed.

I like the seats, but thats about it. Don't really care for the body style.

That is pathetic! It is routine to have 120VAC to 12VDC power supplies at car shows connected so that such things work (with fuses removed for starting and other functions they do not want to be operational).

I agree, most of the other cars on display were set up that way.

the cherokee on the display podium was. But you could not get into that one.

Why not the whole interior? I have a GC and love the interior. The inside of the Cherokee is essentially the same layout and materials. It looks very functional and nearly every review the past month gives thumbs up to its quality.
