Re: when are they being shipped to dealers

 12,000 vehicles sitting to be inspected and reprogramed

Do the Math ,,,,2 hour test drives each = 24,000 Hours
Say the 600 employees laid off are trained for this ...
That's 40 Hours each or 1 whole week of reprogramming each .and Test Drive...

Lets hope they have 600 Scanners to re program ?
And lots of gas ,,,These vehicles should have a 150 miles on them . LOL

:confused::confused::confused::confused::confused: :confused:

The best answer? When they are ready. And not a moment before. Sucks to sit on a quarter of a billion in inventory but the alternatives suck more.

they could ship one to each dealer as a demo not to be sold or one to each major city to a dealer not to be sold so some of us trying to make a decision could make up our mind on. it or grand and possibly generate orders. heck i think they already charged the dealers for them

We all would love to get them shipped ASAP. The reality is, they will ship as soon as Jeep is ready to ship them. We just have to be patient.

From what I have seen, the dealerships are not invoiced until the vehicles are actually shipped.

Correct!

As much as I and some of my customers are anxious to see them, this move to wait marks an important change in Chrysler's attitude about a new vehicle release. In the past they would have shipped them out weeks ago, only to have to fix them after the fact, and ultimately hurt themselves and their product's reputation with the resulting fallout. This time, they are sticking to what Sergio said when he took over - "we have to get the cars RIGHT."

Re: when are they being shipped to dealers

Now I'm getting really frustrated. I ordered August 1 and never thought I would be concerned about getting delivery before we departed for FLA in our T&C. It is becoming increasingly clear that our unit will not likely be delivered before we depart. Then comes the issue of "trade value" and how to close when we aren't here.

I'm starting to think our transaction will end up being cancelled and we'll have to start all over again in the spring. Sure not what I want.

We want a quality vehicle but disappointed in the fact that we cannot get any information about when our Cherokee will be ready. I'm thinking maybe the best thing to do is cancel our order and wait a few months until Chrysler works things out. Only question I have is will we be able to special order or be forced to take whats on the dealers lot?

Here is simple math.
Prioritize, fix and ship the customer pre-ordered (no I am not one of those, just makes sense).
The issue (public information) was the tranny programming between the I4 and 9HP... so ship the V6s.
Finally, ship as you fix. I know there are some cost savings on filling up trains but you can a least get some inventory moved and sold.

I think if it was that simple they would already be shipping the V6 models. I would say the best way to deal with the frustration is to plan on waiting another 6 months and then if its sooner than that it will be a pleasant surprise.

I emphathize with those who ordered their vehicles months ago.
Obviously I don't know the whole story but I never read anything related to an issue with the V6 models...
Yep easier just to check back next year.
