This winter kicked the shit out of my chromes and I'm thinking of possibly getting my rims sandblasted and painted matte black...

The matte black rims would look pretty bad ass on your WJ, you have enough black areas to pull it off IMO.

Get some paint on the callipers (yellow, red, blue or something) and hell yeah!

Here's a quick little Ps from your sig pic, matte black isn't an easy one to do and retain visible detail though...

I just did this to my chrome wheels. I'm assuming your center cap is plastic like most and wont be powdercoatable, but you could paint it if you want. I had a waterjet guy cut me custom ones. Also most wheels have shitty chrome jobs and will flake off if a normal powdercoater blasts them unless he has advanced sandblasting capabilities. My powdercoater ran into issues and I had to take them to an actual sandblast guy. I love the results though, we'll see how they look on the jeep in the spring.

I tried to make that as matte as possible but you'd have hardly any 'sheen' that is shown on the Ps job - they're more satin but no quite, as I say its not an easy finish to photoshop without spending a bit of time at it.

I got my rims powdercoated in satin black and they look great. If you're seriously considering it, I'd suggest you take a trip to a local powdercoater and get them to show you some samples of the two finishes. Either or would look good, its just personal preference.

Oh, maybe try out matte silver too that is a nice look!
