seafoam treatment

i wanna do the seafoam treatment this afternoon. I just got my oil changed so i don't wanna run it through the oil. would it be effective if i just put it in my gas tank and the vacuum line?

Still gunna make the oil nasty, can gunk up the plugs too if you do the vacuum line. A safer alternative is marvel mystery oil. You can run that in the oil until your next change. Can use it in the gas as well. I wouldn't do vacuum line until plugs and oil are ready for a change.

Actually I've used Seafoam in the vacuum line in the past 3 oil changes and I checked the plugs each time and they were fine. Almost as clean as the day I replaced them, 12,000 miles ago.

Depends on the condition of the manifold before treatment. If its downright disgusting, could be funky. If you keep it clean...

True that.

If you have a hemi, you want to put it into the oil for 100-300 miles or so. Made a big difference with mine, as it freed up the sticky/noisy MDS lifters, ie. throttle response and performance at all RPM is much better, and got rid of the hemi tick.

Put it in the tank. If you put it in the oil, you will definitely need another oil change.

If you want to run something in your oil try marvel mystery oil. Been using it in my jeep and had it in my chrysler 300m. Ran smooth all the time and prevents gum/ sludge.

only if the engine is really dirty inside. if its not, you can run it all the time if you wanted to. I do in my old XJ-it keeps the lifters quieter.

I just added 1/2 bottle to the oil, getting ready to change oil again, and already has quieted the lifters down after just 20 miles. I do it every other oil change to keep it running great, and quiet with no hemi tick.

This thread reminded me to do this again. I'm due for an oil change in about 300 miles and I have a 200mi round trip I'm going on today. Good thing I bought a gallon of Seafoam on sale...
