laminating the interior
What do you think.

The bronze/champagne gets scratched easily so I thought I would laminated with contact paper (faux leather).

What a great idea!!! I was trying to think of a good way to go with this issue. This might be just the ticket! Where did you get the material? How difficult is it to remove the panel?

Re: laminating the interior
When I was a little kid, contact paper was fairly new. My mother covered everything in sight with it. Then she wound up replacing everything.

So, I have an aversion to the stuff.

Re: laminating the interior
In Seattle I got the stuff at Fred Meyers (Krogers).
This stuff is pretty sturdy, I covered my gas tank on my old GSR and it lasted almost 2 years before I dumped the bike and it scratched it.

Pretty simple to put on. I didn't even remove the cover. I traced the contact paper to size and used a wet cloth to work out the bubble and used a credit card end to tuck it into the cracks then trimmed it carefully with a razor blade.

I found a shop that is willing to do it with 3m laminate but they wanted over $200 for parts and labor. This took me 10 minutes and $6.99 for a roll big enough to cover 1/2 the car. Funny thing is it matches the grain plastic/rubber of the interior.

this is the stuff but you can find it cheaper in the kitchen area or even at home depot / lowes.

Should I do the door and trim around the radio or leave it.

It's funny I was just thinking about how easy center console plastics scratch. Thinking about ordering some clear plastic protective film.
