WK2 CRD Electronic Throttle Control Fault
Has any one experienced a ETC fault with their CRD. My 2012 WK2 JGC CRD ( Australian Build) experience an ETC fault yesterday and had to be towed to a dealer. Still waiting to here from them as to what the cause of the fault is and remedy will be.
Is this a common fault? vehicle has travelled only 16,000 klm's.
Thanks in advance,

Re: WK2 CRD Electronic Throttle Control Fault
I have recently purchased an MY14 WK2 Jeep Grand Cherokee. It has less than 1300km on the odometer. Today a message and a number of warning lights were activated when driving approx. 5km across town. The message on the EVIC stated that the diesel filter was nearly full and to safely drive at highway speeds to clear the problem. The electronic throttle control (ETC) light on the EVIC then started flashing and the engine malfunction light came on. The vehicle then went into limp mode. Jeep Assist has since had the vehicle transported to a dealer to be sorted. I will say that Jeep Assist (Australia) were very helpful. Is this a known or common problem and is it easily fixed?
I will also post on the export thread

Re: WK2 CRD Electronic Throttle Control Fault
Unfortunately normal, and it shouldn’t be, the warning should come on and give you time to induce regen of the DPF filter.
See this thread.

And from this post yesterday -

As per my response to that post, raise an official complaint with Jeep Assist, or customer care what ever they are.
The programming for the warning is wrong for Aus and maybe all export.

You should be warned in time to prevent limp mode.

Re: WK2 CRD Electronic Throttle Control Fault

Mine threw the electronic throttle warning light around Xmas. It was due to high fuel rail pressure readings......however my vehicle is chipped. :D

I originally thought it was the MAF playing up so I would disconnect it, remove the code and get out of limp mode.

I reset the chip and it has been fine since.
