GC Overland Side Mirror Cost

Hi All,

I've had my GC 2014 Overland (au spec) for a couple of months now and really love it.

Yesterday I was reverse parking and clipped a telephone pole with my lhs rear view mirror, I was staggered to find the replacement cost for a single mirror assembly is $3400 - plus installation! I've called two dealers and both the same price.

I just can't see how this can be justified at any level and I'm not really interested in putting in an insurance claim and perpetuating Jeep's ability to ream the consumer in this way!

Anyone got any better sources for these than the dealer? All that's actually broken is the black plastic bit, the color coded part is fine and the glass is fine.

Thanks,

Nathan

$3,400!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Dam Dam Dam!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What part is the black plastic bit? Not sure what you're referring to but may be there is a way to use an industrial type glue and glue it or maybe some type of heated object to help melt the part back together. Maybe you can find a place that has one of those new 3D C and C machines that can just about duplicate anything. I'm sure it would be cheaper than the $3,400. Maybe you can just wait a while and check with some junk yards or maybe an older part may fit.
