HELP!!! tired of squeaking.
I have a 2005 Jeep Wrangler Sport 6 speed runs great, but still have one issue still. The transmission/clutch squeaking, it goes away when pushing clutch in as i let out it squeaks badly. I ve had the clutch replaced twice. I wanted to know if others have had this issue? I have driven the jeep like this for months and nothing has gone on me yet, knock on wood. But seems to be getting worse. The jeep dealership said maybe the arm that pushes everything isnt long enough. Any help would be greatly appreciated thank you. Im still under warranty.

Three comments that may help;

Sounds like a bad throwout bearing to me, it could be the bearing was not replaced along with the clutch and pressure plate.

Also if the dealership says the arm that pushes the clutch out is not long enough I'd be inclined to go elsewhere for jeep service. The arm should be correct unless it was replaced which I would think would be unlikely.

Lastly if a dealer ship gave me my jeep back with something squeaking that they worked on I'd be at the dealership speaking with a manager at least and demanding they fix it for free. Clutch service is not that difficult, and is easy enough to do right with out squeaking I have replace clutches on YJ and TJ wranglers.

Re: HELP!!! tired of squeaking.
There is an updated pushrod for the slave cylinder on the TJ that is just slightly longer so it preloads the throw out bearing slightly. Its like a 15 dollar part from the dealer and takes just about 15 minutes to install.

Re: HELP!!! tired of squeaking.
I don't have access to Dealerconnect any longer to quickly and easily look up information but I have to ask where did you go to ask the dealer? did you ask the parts guys? I don't think the parts system will pull the part number up, its in a TSB that a technician would locate in service information. In this case they may not want to spend the time to help you without you paying for diagnosis...

Again let me look around, a quick google of the issue brought up numerous mentions of the tsb I speak of but nothing to really cut and paste or a part number. I have personally performed this repair on a TJ before.

If I have no luck ill look when I am at work on Monday, I don't have dealerconnect at work but have other resources to pull from.

Re: HELP!!! tired of squeaking.
part numbers are listed in the link:

If you question if the part will work or not, firstly its pretty dang cheap, but secondly you could compare the slave cylinder part numbers 2005-2006 (so long as its for the same transmission), if they are the same I would further suggest this is right for your issue. I would think the ONLY reason it would not apply to an 05 is likely because they probably used the 5 speed through 2005, yours being the same NSG370 that is in the JK wrangler I would suspect the TSB fully applies to yours too.

Re: HELP!!! tired of squeaking.
Thank you very much man for this info, its greatly appreciated. I cant take the squealing anymore drives me crazy. Yeah i dont think they understood at jeep dealership what i was talking bout. Im gonna copy this bulletin and bring to dealership. It says 2006-2007 and i think i have that manual transmission also so should fix the issue. I love my jeep i treat it like a baby, i did take it into some trails ealrier today thing goes through anything. I want to lift alittle more and add some goodies to it;-) Again man thanks very much for info. Ill let you know how goes.

Re: HELP!!! tired of squeaking.
Good luck with the dealer... their egos and wallets don't typically appreciate pre-diagnostics nor do they like pre-diagnostics with a TSB with years that don't "apply" to your vehicle.

There were 2 manual transmissions available in the TJ around your year, the NV3550 (5 speed) and the NSG370 (6 speed). If yours is a 6 speed it applies to the TSB... the repair is VERY easy to do and if they refuse to bite I would consider doing it yourself! You pop 2 bolts out pull the plunger out of the slave, drop the new plunger in slide it back into the bell housing and put the 2 bolts back in and your noise is fixed! MIGHT be complicated by the front driveshaft in your hand space, but its not a rocket science repair!

Re: HELP!!! tired of squeaking.
Yeah its a 6 speed and yes the jeep dealership that i deal with are a pain in the ass. I went through hell when i first bought the jeep. The second day i had it went to start it starter was gone, got it back next hole in oil pan, next death wobble at 55-60 mph so bad went off the road. They changed steering damper and front rotors. I had clutch changed twice and this, that we r talking bout was and is prob the problem all along. So yes you r right they love diagnostics, they piss me off. The parts guy at the dealership was like no i dont see any update for that year. The guy at the service desk told me one time that the arm maybe the problem, maybe, they know lol. Im just afraid now might have to have new throw out bearing in. They were like oh its clutch have to replace it, bullshit. Thanks again for your help man.

Re: HELP!!! tired of squeaking.
NO, you need nothing other than the new pushrod. It is an external repair that should take no more than 15 minutes.

And no problem, any time, hopefully this fixes your issue and you can be done with the horrible noise!
