Two options for purchasing SRT-Opinions needed

2007 SRT8 w/ 80k for $23,800
or
2006 SRT8 with 57k for $22,800

Here's the links to the dealers site:

2007- 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT-8 HEMI w/ Navigation , Rear DVD Player Avenel, New Jersey | EMG Auto Sales

2006-2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT-8 w/ Navigation Avenel, New Jersey | EMG Auto Sales

Overall the same in features, I dont really care about the DVD player.

Which would you choose any why? I have an 06' now without any major issues but i'm not so familiar with SRT's this year. Any common issues?

THANKS

similar miles...but one is one year newer. Go with the one with the best service records

I'm leaning towards the 06'. 23k less on the ODO isn't hurting. Plus it looks stock which is good for me since I like to experience the gains, etc. Plus the previous owner may not have beat it up although like any SRT i'm sure she's been driven hard.

I'm heading up Saturday to take a look at it and drive it to my mechanic, test drive etc.

Thanks for the input man! Hopefully I can join the SRT community soon:)

Anything other than obvious things I should look for? Common repairs other SRT guys have made?

check the records for transfer case repairs or rear ends

Well after getting to the dealership they added a bunch of hidden fees making the asking price more than I was ready to spend. Plus offered me a whopping 7k for my trade. A fully loaded hemi 06 WK..

At the end of the day the truck had issues though. Torque convertor replaced 10k ago and now when you give it some throttle it grinds like hell.

Sounds like those small ruts you'd drive through coming up to a toll-plaza to warn you to slow down. Coming out of the trans at 75k on the ODO. Not interested in that problem even though it may be minor; asking $28,000 after all their BS fees is crazy.
