making the 14 v-6 a little faster

ok this is what happened,i raced a new ram hemi and I almost beat him but he got me around 50mph,other than the cai what would be a good recommendation?

I was surprised I even kept up with him that long lol

Not trying to sound like a dirtball, but there is no replacement for engine displacement.

The Ram might have had the 3:21 gears, that would explain why it didn't get you before 50. IMO to gain real power your going to need more than a cia which IMO most are not true cai as they suck air from the hot engine compartment....the stock set up does better than most so called cai IMO. A free flowing filter element, and good exhaust with a tune would probably be your cheapest path to a little extra HP but as Ratchet said it's hard to overcome those two extra cylinders.

Buy a new vehicle.

The one you just bought was not designed to "race"...you should have looked at the SRT instead.

it can be done, but it will cost a lot of $$$ to run with the hemi. I have a lot on my 3.7 and it barely beats the 4.7's

There's nothing that can be done to a '14. No bolt-on (intake, exhaust, etc) is going to make a huge difference. A tune would make the most difference when and if it will be available. The Ram must have had 3:21s as mentioned above, or just playing with you. My Jeep can't come close to my Ram with 3.92 LSD.

thanks everyone for the input,i wasn't complaining at all about the power,im quite impressed actually,im not a street racer either by any means, were we just playin a little on a nice stretch of road,i had the hemi in my 08 before this and I would take this motor over that any day,i was just curious if there was ant tune available or anything, will a k-n drop in be the same as the 11-13 models?

Had the K&N cold air intake in my 2014 for a while. I'm pretty convinced there wasn't a power gain, and if anything it was slower.

Yes the k&n is the same as the 11 to 13. Amazon had it the cheapest from what I saw. I agree that he must have messing with you because my ram has 3.55's and there is no way that our jeep would ever keep up with my ram. Even if it had 3.21's it wouldn't have been a contest.

Maybe the Ram had a Pentastar as well? They run pretty good too -- mid 7s 0-60.

I have a brand new 3.6 intake manifold that would be perfect for porting. $50 and its yours. Then you could add a larger ported TB from fastman and na intake. That will help a little. You could also try to find a 180 tstat that will fit the 3.6.

I second this + open up the exhaust. even if you need to do a custom job, just get her to breath better will help, and then when a tune come out for it get that to bring it all together!
