Problem with touch screen (2014 GC Lim)
 
I deeply regret leasing my new 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited. This is my 4th jeep and I cannot express how frustrated I am right now.

To make a long story short....

Turned in my lease 5 months earlier...was 13,000 miles over my lease agreement...had cracked window and some dings and dents...

The dealer gave me a great deal on a brand new 2014 GC Limited...soooo I took it. A day after getting the vehicle the transmission continued to get stuck in 2nd gear...took it back and they gave me a brand new jeep, a complete match to the one which had a bad transmission....

Only problem was the jeep had a scratch on the front bumper...ok ok...they tinted the windows for free (front windows) and fixed bumper...greattttt...Im soooo happy now.....NOTTTT

Two days later the entertainment screen, NAV, radio, etc. goes blank...then it freezes....this continues for a few days so I take it back to the dealership....they tell me it needs an update....ok update it is!

A few days later the same problem...

Now I talk to the service manager who tells me he just received an email which CORRECTSSSS these minor glitches....

Annnnddd I bring it back a SECOND time....

Guess what.....

Yea you guessed...the same problem...only now the entertainment center turns white then resets....

I didn't even call service yet because right now I want to drive the jeep through their front window...I contacted Chrysler and filed a complaint...ohhh BTW I contacted them after the first time was unsuccessful... A supervisor has since contacted me and will be handling this recurring problem....

Any advise...suggestions???

I want out of this damn lease but I know that is not something that can be easily done....

The first thing I'd tell you is to take a deep breath and relax before you have a heart attack! I'm sorry your having problems. Give the dealer a chance to fix them. In the mean time, put your rage to good use and see what NJ law can do to protect you if it all goes south. My guess is you need to have the unit replaced, but that's just my guess. Good luck, and I hope your problem gets resolved.

I hear ya...nj lemon law states I can file a claim if the problem is not fixed in 3 attempts. We shall see....my frustration is that I've been there 6 times since I leased my vehicle, that is ridiculous. All these updates don't seem to be working on my jeep. Your probably right by saying they will have to replace the unit. We shall see.....
