TPMS Rebuild Kits?

Anyone done this themselves? Is it just replacing the rubber seat?

Re: TPMS Rebuild Kits?

OEM rebuild kits are new valve stems. Unscrew the TPMS sensor, cut off the old rubber stem and remove, push new stem in, screw the TPMS sensor back on.

I'm trying to decide if what Discount Tire wants to charge me is worth it:eek:

If you don't want to go hunting you can pay discount tire.

or your can search ebay for the same Dill 925C that they would have sold to you anyway.

Are they charging more than $3 each now?

My installer did not want to use the stems as current thinking is to not bother changing them. They told me to hang onto them. That turned out to be a good move as two wheels were damaged and needed to be replaced and its is difficult removing the valve stems without damaging them. The new stems I had on hand saved the day... or at least some time hunting down new ones. The ones DT sent me looked just like the OEMs.

I just went a head and let Discount Tire do it. I'm glad I did cause it looked like it was pretty difficult.
For the record I got 53,000+ miles off the OEM Fortera's.:eek:
