4.7 guys with superchip, CAI, and exhaust...

What do you guys think made the most noticable power gains, the CAI, exhaust, or the superchip? Im debating on whether or not to get the superchip, right now I have an exhaust and CAI.

I have the K&N CAI, original SuperChips programmer, 3" hi-flow CAT and 3" system on mine and it sure is a noticeable power jump! That's just on the butt dyno, but it certainly hauls ass now.

Cams, bigger TB and 08 manifold are next on my list - oh and maybe that ATI harmonic balancer and an UD pully. Damn, just need to win the lottery! :D

Haha yeah I need to win too. I would like a cam but labor prices would kill me and it would kill the 2 years left on the powertrain warranty I have. Im interested in the manifold it seems like a pretty good mod as far as price and install difficulty and I heard you gain like 20HP from it but for now I think im going to have to settle with the CAI, Exhaust, and maybe a Superchip since im broke. :D Do you guys have many Jeeps in Scotland? My family's from there but I've never been, my immediate family came over here in the 20's and 30's.

Yeah, I'm not to sure the new programmer gives you a more aggressive tune - I asked but got no reply so I'm not sure. SCT tuning is available on the WJ which might be worth looking into also.

I can't see you being disappointed in those mods, far from it really. Plus they are great base mods to build on. If you're broke and can go with those though you're doing good! :D

The cams are a labour intensive job, I got quoted 10 hours to do it. The intake manifold should only be 1 - 2 hours for a mechanic to do if you can't do it yourself.

As far as I know there are 3 Scots on this forum, so were kinda a rare breed - specifically on the modifying side. There are a few Jeeps out on the roads but they're nowhere near as popular as Japanese or Land Rovers trucks.

the superchips added the most for me on the butt dyno

SuperChips did it for me, especially with large tires. Go all out and get all three for a good performance jump.

Cool thanks guys.

Chip, chip chip......with the new updated program setting you will notice crazy results. None the less, the intake, exhaust and programmer is the best setup.

The 08 manifold requires extensive modification to fit in a WJ. It also needs a real tune. Superchips will absolutely not cut it. I am running a stock tune and with the 08 manifold I am seeing afrs of 13.5 above 4500 rpms. With the 02 manifold and stock tune I saw 11.5 Afr in the same area.

Have you ran your's at the track yet? Mine should run similiar times once I get the chip, im curious to see what Gen 1 4.7 WK guys are running the the basic intake/exhaust/chip mod most of us get.

For me it would be a tie between the superchips and the cai. I shaved about a half a second of my 0-60 times per mod. Started around 8 seconds, now I consistently between 6.8-7.2 depending on the launch. Of course i made my own cai, so it's a little different than the k&n. Keep in mind with the superchips you'll need to run the 91 octane tune to notice any difference. I used the 87 tune when i first got it and was thoroughly dissapointed. I think it only gains like 7hp or something, the 91 tune gains 20+. I only have a flowmaster muffler with stock piping, so I can't speak for performance on the exhaust side.

I just have a Magnaflow on mine but its much better flowing than the stock, its basically a strait pipe wrapped with fiber glass, I was debating wether or not to go 3in but i've heard some people say I would lose some of my low end going 3in.
