Anyone Know if there is a current production delay?

There are a few rumors floating out there that Jeep is having some delays in production. Does anyone know if its true? What are the delays if you know?

I know several people who have passed their proposed date to begin build. It looks like they may be running up to 2 weeks behind at this point.

If Jeeps currently delivery estimate holds true, it will be almost 13 weeks from Order to Delivery for mine. Currently they are saying November 18th. But mine was one of the pre-tranny fix units.

Toledo North Assembly is running a week to two weeks behind on customer orders. They currently are working two 9 hours shifts. Plans are to either change that to two, twelve hour shifts after the first of the year or hire another complete shift. It seems like the market is flooded with dealer ordered FWD Cherokees and customer ordered 4WD Cherokees are taking a long time to get built and shipped. Customer orders were supposed to take precedence but that didn't happen in the beginning. Chrysler was anxious to build dealer inventory so started with those since they figured a customer order was a captive sale. Add to that, that shipping is a complete logistical nightmare and that Dealer Connect, JeepStatus.com, VOTS, and MOTS are not always kept up to date. Because of that they often times disagree with each other. My Cherokee had an estimated ship date of 11/4 and wasn't even built until 11/7. LOL, it currently is in storage after inspection. That is another problem. Chrysler is not releasing a truck or train car unless it is full. That means a Jeep can set for days or even weeks until that happens.

My Cherokee was built 10/12 and it still in storage. Seeing all the Cherokee's on dealers lots. Now it time to ship mine. PLEASE!!!

FYI, Jeepstatus and VOTS are the same thing as one pulls from the other. MOTS is about the most up to date knowing what data sources they use.

Macfan is pretty spot on. The tangle is slowly getting unwoven and production is getting up to full capacity. It's a nice problem to have but a problem that still needs to be resolved.

Mine is a dealer inventory order, it's been sitting in NY since the 3rd. I noticed a lot of people on MotS have been unloaded from a rail car status for some time now. It's seems like they leave the factory then sit in the nearest hub for dealers for ever. Many of the dealers here only received one and they all seem to be the same exact specs and model. I'm wondering when we are gonna see more inventory. Dealers can't be happy especially with the holiday sales and "oh you want a cherokee, well we only have one right now"

Re: Anyone Know if there is a current production delay?

It depends on the dealer and the logistics system. The dealers around here have anywhere from 3-50 (according to the Toledo Blade). There are still a ton in transit and the factory is cranking them out as fast as they can.

My dealer has 3 in stock. All are 2.4L 2wd models.

They show 22 intransit (including mine).
