2014 SRT Interior Issue

1 Attachment(s)
I just noticed that several trim pieces are misaligned on my center console. Has anyone else dealt with this issue and if so how?
I circled the area in red that I am referring too

My 2014 Summit had a similar although not as bad problem from the factory. Something like this should have never passed inspection at the assembly plant. I still say most of the so called inspectors need glasses or more likely they just don't care. I still see this problem on the latest built 2014 WK2's and they have been building these things for like 9 months, and still can't get it correct.

Anyway back on topic, on mine I took the console partially apart and reseated it and it corrected the problem. Now it looks perfect. After removing the shifter handle, it comes apart pretty easily.

Removing shifter handle? If you can be a little more detailed how you did it I read on another post you were able to re-seat the misaligned pieces without having to remove shifter. I can see on my console where they messed up but I not sure how to take apart the pieces. Was it easy for you to do yourself?

It is ludicrous that you have to "re-seat the misaligned pieces" on a $70K vehicle. Just sayin'.

I could not agree with you more. All they had to do was to look at the line where the lid that opens/closes meets the shifter area and see it was off.

I have to admit that I did not notice it until another member posted a picture of his and asked it it was normal. The funny/sad thing was I thought it was normal because mine was the same as were many pictures I found do a Google search.

Now every time I get into my SRT it jumps out at me and make me want to scream. I wish I had the confidence to fix it myself. I am afraid to take it into my local Jeep dealer as they will most likely break something else while trying to fix it.

get it fixed on warranty, and if they do break something else, get that fixed on warranty ;)

yeah it sucks, but make the most of your warranty and get it sorted asap so that you're not bummed about it every time you go for a ride

i'd have the dealer fix it. i agree with boss.man take advantage of the warranty. I had them replace the rear srt8 emblem because the black flag was peeling. while i felt dumb bringing it in for a badge replacement they were happy to do it no questions asked.

Only scary part is having them take that console apart and screw something else up.

This is the reason I have not done it yet. I am doing some research and looking into doing it myself.

Proceed with extreme caution if you do it yourself unless you work at the factory and know exactly how and where everything goes.
