2014 jcc overland spare wheel

Hi all,
I have on order a JCG Overland with 18" wheels, as you all know the main spare comes in a steel rim as well as a smaller tire. (even though all say full size spare) Any way, what I am looking at doing if anyone has any suggestions. as I don't have a vehicle in town to inspect for ideas until I get mine

I have purchased another genuine 18" wheel (still chasing a TPM to suit car, any help on that would be great to :)) when car gets here I am having all 4 wheels and the new wheel fitted with Cooper AT3's. Then I plan to mount one spare in well bay,Hopefully the alloy will fit here and the other one hopefully the steel mount under the vehicle as there seems to be a large area and have found pics of wheels mounted here before. This way as we live remote and travel remote I can carry and have 2 spares at all times.

Have attached a photo of what I found below

Cheers

A real full sized spare will not allow the panel over the spare to close.

Is there really enough room underneath, without compromising your ground clearance?

To be honest I really have no idea, and wont have any idea until I get myine here next year to work on that to see if possible, I am hoping it is. Google images can only supply me limited details lol. to have a car to view and meaure everything and see where to bolt it would be awesome, but not even our dealer has one in stock :-(

Re: 2014 jcc overland spare wheel

SO what size is the "not full" full size spare?
This seems very misleading and sneaky by Jeep.
Is it the same overall diameter, just narrower?

Not only the size but as well as load rating... see below
4 x MAIN
Michelin latitude tour tyres P265/60R18 109T
Max Load 2271P / 1030KG
Speed 190km

1 x SPARE
Kumho Solus KR21 P245/65R18 109T
Max Load 1984P / 900KG
Speed 190km

I suppose they get away with it as it is a full size and not one of those crap space savers???

well worded I guess??

Try googling online Mopar sensors--or a local tire/wheel store. Swapped to winter wheels a bit ago, and totally seamless, and didn't even complain for the 5 miles or so when the factory sensors and the aftermarket wheels with Mopar sensors were in/on the vehicle.

Those sizes do seem to offer an option for the OP if they can locate good tires where a 235 to 245 width in a 60-70 size are available--as long as the outer diameter matches to avoid drive train strain if the spare ever has to be used. This presumes that the Kumho is a piece of unacceptable garbaj, which it may not be. Surprised it has the same speed rating. I've traded a jeep at 19 years and the cheapo spare was still where it was when new. Luck...

An ome alloy 18 with a full size tyre, to match the four on the car WILL fit under the rear cargo area floor - just! It depends on the brand of tyre. I have an ome alloy with an ome Kuhmo tyre and the floor just closes with a bit of a push. I think the bridgestones are a bit squarer and fit a bit better.

I'm impressed by that photo - how did they get the GC to hover in the air like that?

Thanks for the post. I forgot that they don't use the same OEM tyres down under.
