Google has not been my friend this evening. I can find the mounts for BMWs' but nothing for a Jeep Grand Cherokee.
My state Virginia requires you to have a front license plate. I was wondering if there is a way to mount the plate to the tow hook. I found some other mounts that flip out from under the front.
I do wish Jeep made their mounting options like Acura. Just pop out two body coloured plugs in the front bumper to install the license plate bracket. Now if I get transferred to Nova Scotia which does not issue a front plate I will be left with two holes.
Actually...four holes for the OEM bracket, plus two other deformities caused by the plate screws when they are sunk all the way. (My JGC was scarfed from a dealer in NYC and when I removed the front bracket -- front plate not used in PA -- I was left with a whole bunch of holes. I have some plugs and touch-up paint I'm going to try and use to fix that)
Have you seen these before? I used some years ago and they worked great to plug the holes left by eliminating the front plate. You can still see them, but they don't look too bad.
I have seen some people place them on their passenger side dash. Presumably they use some kind of suction cups to keep it from becoming a projectile in a crash.
Jeep will deliver the new JGC's with a factory mounted front bracket for orders from residents of states that require front marker plates. Just got my JGC CRD a few days ago and it had a factory installed front bracket.
But what I have read here, some members told dealers"myself included" not to mount the bracket op front !
I told them that I want to wrap the front with 3M protective film, but we'll see on Monday ?
