14 Overland...now that it is cold...

My Overland was built in Feb and no software updates done.

I use the keyless entry to open the vehicle.
The outside temp is in the 30's.

When I start the car, heated seats automatically come on, and heated steering wheel.

However, the heater doesn't come on automatically.
If I press the "auto" half button, the temp of the air at the vent, per a thermometer is a little less than 80 degrees. (It would take an hour to warm the car up at that rate.)

If I go to the Climate soft button, and press the left soft key button, now the heat finally turns on. The output temp is around 110 degrees and the blower is at a level 2. Great.

How can I get the system to start up this way?
Even when I shut the engine off to refuel, when I start back up, no heat.
Really?

I've read the 600 page UCONNECT manual and I didn't catch anything that I haven't done.

Whether summer or winter, the temp is set at 72 degrees but nothing automatic happens.

On all my previous jeeps, when the car was started, all the settings that were in place the last time the engine was shut off, remained.

Is this a dealer fixable thing?
A UCONNECT software update thing that I can do?
Is it a problem "between the ears"?
Or just live with it?

Thanks

Tom

I get all updates done before I worried about anything.

Some (i.e. Uconnect) you might be able to do yourself.

But some other updates might effect HVAC as well.
