How Many Miles Should I get out of the Front Rotors
I have 37k miles on my '12 JGC SRT8. I recently took it in for a rotation and alignment. Was informed that my front brakes needed total replacement. I figured it would be time to replace the pads, but the rotors too? I am curious to know how many miles other SRT8 owners are getting out of the front rotors? I understand that the front bares a lot of the load, but new rotors already?? Just want to make sure that I am not being taken advantage of. I also called dealership, where I take it for all regular maintenance, and they seemed pretty surprised.
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
Re: How Many Miles Should I get out of the Front Rotors
theres a spec for the thickness that most manufacturers use....
Im not aware of that spec...but Im sure its pretty basic of a spec. Take a look at the face of the rotors and see if theres a prominent lip around the out side where the rotors surface is worn.
