2014 Diesel Fuel Filters

I tried to buy a pair of the fuel filters at the selling dealer last week and the only listing the parts dept. could find was for an export model, which they were restricted from ordering. Does anyone know the current part number and a source for these filters? I found a pdf on WK2Jeeps.com that shows the filters and drain plug but no part numbers were listed.

I want to keep some spares in the vehicle such as the special small size fuses, 5w-30 diesel oil, oil and fuel filters, accessory (fan) belt, and perhaps the upper and lower radiator hoses in the event that I break down in BFE.

I have some health issues that prevent me from crawling under the Jeep anymore, so I would appreciate it if anyone could find out what tools are needed to drain the water separator and change the fuel filters. It appears from the pdf that a Phillips #2 or #3 screwdriver or bit might work for the water drain and a metric socket, size ?mm, for the filters. I believe that if I have the basic parts and tools with me I won't need to use them out in the boonies.

I think that it would be helpful to a lot of the recent SFU owners for the mods to make a "sticky" in this section listing the common parts with numbers and sources, tools, and supplies for our new Jeeps, since they probably won't be available at parts houses for quite some time.
Thanks, Don

Thanks a million Milous!! I'd read the maintenance information pdf several months ago and I didn't recall the filter number being listed there. Off to find a vendor and spend more money.http://jeepgarage.org/images/icons/icon10.gif

Re: 2014 Diesel Fuel Filters

Why does the part number Milous listed for 2014 diesel oil filter not match what WK2GP has listed for 2014??

Milous has the correct oil filter #, i installed onein my diesel today.

Thanks for the fuel filter #.

WK2GP is in Australia, so he may be dealing with the export version.

Note - the PDF showing the directions for changing the oil filter on the V6 Pentastar in the first link shows the 2013 filter. Use that filter on the 2014 and you will ruin your engine.

Re: 2014 Diesel Fuel Filters

I've read on a couple fuel filter service docs to remove the Transfer case skid plate covering the filters. My 2014 GC Limited diesel doesn't have that skid plate. Since i bought the jeep 1 yr old, wondering if it's suppose to have one or not, or if the dealer forgot to reinstall it after i had the filters replaced last week. Is the skid plate an option on the Limited?

I also bought these on Amazon.com for a much less price from supposedly a CJD dealer in TX. When they arrived they looked good in Mopar packaging. But after removal, it was quickly discovered that they were about 2" too tall !
Since I had it apart, I had to eat crow and go to the dealer who DID have the right ones for about 45.00 each. Amazon did make it right but I did have to eat the return shipping. You can bet I wrote that correct part # down for next time !:)

You probably ended up with the ram ecodiesel fuel filters. If I remember right, they use one larger filter vs the Jeep with 2 small filters.

My November 2014 build 2015 Limited with ORA2 has a deflector plate, but it doesn't cover the fuel filters directly. I have a picture I can post later if you'd like.
