my new 5.7 Summit and Corsa exhaust

:D

I recently picked up a 2012 Overland Summit 5.7. I absolutely love it and added a Corsa performance exhaust on day 1. The sound is perfect. Low rumble at no-load and it roars when I get on it. The Corsa really wakes up this HEMI. The previous owner already installed the Mopar CAI.

Here is a few photos - I found another member's picture on this forum and followed his lead on painting the Corsa mufflers black. Great idea...the mufflers are tucked up tight and you can barely see them from behind.

Nice!...I'm still debating on what type of exhaust to do either corsa or magnaflow....I'm waiting for a hemi over here in NY to fly past me so I can get a real hear for it, only ones I've heard are the srts an the v6s (god only knows) why ppl put systems on 6 cylinder!....you have a video!?

I feel compelled to let you know that the Corsa sport cat back system I installed on my '13 Overland raised my 0-60 times from 6.9 seconds up to 7.2 seconds The low end torque is quite diminished. The good news is that over 2000 rpm, the 5.7 absolutely screams. So anything from a roll is fantastic, but dead stop starts are sluggish. In short , the power band has shifted to the higher rpms/speeds. From what I've been able to learn, the 3" pipes used by Corsa are great for reducing restriction (and backpressure), but some backpressure works with the valves to actually increase torque. While a free flowing exhaust is what works best for high speed horsepower.
Just wanted to share my limited experience.....Always learning!
For reference, I am also running a CAI, 85mm ported throttle body, and Hemifever tuning.
BTW....As for the exhaust note... It's awesome!

From all of my trial and errors over the years, most have found that very few performance exhaust systems are engineered to be 'drone free'. It's especially tricky with the 5.7 “Multi Displacement System” (MDS) feature. Magnaflow will boom when MDS kicks in...and will drone. I believe that only Corsa - or MOPAR performance exhaust - p/n P5155931 - which is identical to Corsa (supplied to MOPAR by Corsa - 2011-2013 Grand Cherokee 5.7L Cat Back Exhaust - Mopar Performance Online) are drone free.

I agree that the big 3" pipes improve the high end and may compromise torque a bit. Sluggish from a dead start? I'm not feeling a real seat-in-the-pants difference. I'd love to see a before and after on a dyno..I can't find anything from Corsa offering improved HP/Tq #'s...just a claimed flow increase average of 97% gain over stock and 13 lbs. lighter than stock weight reduction..

That is a crazy looking offset after the mufflers.

This is fantastic info! I just began research on exhaust and read a few reports about the drone/fart sound when MDS kicks in. You just helped narrow my choice down big time. Thanks!

you won't be disappointed...the exhaust is more expensive than other, however it is worth the drone-free performance.

check out this guys video - he has a few on youtube:

those both sound pretty good. I have been thinking corsa, but now maybe I would consider a borla. Thoughts?
