HIDs on An XJ?

So another Jeep has become a part of our family and I'm doing everything I can to hold myself back from wanting to mod the hell out of it. My mom just bought a 2000 xj with 80 something k miles on it for 3 grand. Not a bad deal. Anyway she loves the HIDs on mine and wanted me to install a set on hers. My question is, having only one bulb on these will a single bulb HID work for both high and low beams? The original bulbs are 2 stage.

Make sure you get 5000k or 6000k!!!! You don't want to blind anyone with those housings!

Re: HIDs on An XJ?

I had bought my brothers XJ a new headlight with interchangeable bulbs which made it a good candidate for HID's but never did installed them in fear of excessive glare.

Anything over 4,100K does nothing but reduce light output and increase glare for other drivers. http://www.cardomain.com/ride/612165/4

Re: HIDs on An XJ?

You can do either a bi-xenon kit or a low beam only kit. A lot of our customers go for a low beam only given that you get so much light output just from low beams. Keep in mind that the higher kelvin kits give you more color but less actual useable light output.
