A World Class Vehicle

Does anyone else see similarities between the 2014 Cherokee and the 2015 Porsche Macan that is being intoduced now? Seems like Chrysler LLC was ahead of the curve with the Cherokee.
Only looking back from the future will anyone know if the new Cherokee can live up to the name and the expectations, but I know I like mine right now.

New owner here of a 2014 Jeep Cherokee Limited. Have had it 3 weeks now and really like it. First tank averaged 22.1 MPG, hand calculated came out to 21.5 MPG. One thing I find strange is that you have to move the shift lever up to downshift and down to up shift, totally opposite of cars I have had.

Anyone with a memory seat find how to set the seat to move back on exit by the "customer programmable settings on the EVIC" according to the owners manual?

+1 the sport shift is strange. I don't really use it for that reason. I find that Sport Mode shifts better than we could anyway though.

Re: Sport Mode
After everything else that is positive about this vehicle - sport mode really is a topper - it almost becomes a different vehicle.

I have looked several time on the EVIC settings and the touch screen and do not see an option to set the feature so the memory seat goes back to make it easier to get out of the car. That feature is for memory seat only and is listed in the owners manual, but never have found it.

Go to controls > settings> engine off settings> Easy Exit

Thanks very much for the info. Looks like I didn't go to the second page of the scroll. It was right there, checked the box and it is now working. I'm glad to have that working, because I have had it on other cars in the past and it's one of the reasons I got the memory seats.

I don't see why the manual says "after you remove the ignition key". I may be wrong, but I don't think any of the Cherokees have a place to put the key in the ignition. (Page 148 of the Owners Manual)

Slide seat from end to end and try again.

Speaking of world class vehicles -

In a place far away and a time long ago in a place where men ruled:
They drove vehicles like Goats with tri-power - 440's with bayonet shifters - plastic two seaters that weren't for taking your third wife for lattes but had factory side pipes and big block engines. Others drove Porsches that didn't need whale tails, racing Ferraris with tires 6" wide and Aston Martins at home on a race track or in front of a casino. Those men that ruled and drove knew their vehicles and they would have known that the 2014 Cherokee is a Sport Shooting Brake and those men would have had no doubt that the 2014 Cherokee is a great world class car.

...and continuing - saddled up yesterday and went to town via my swamp drive from the estate to what would be called a freeway or interstate in a much less conservative state.
On that off and on road ride, I again thought about what a fine vehicle Jeep has made.
Even though it is so different from the others, it is as satisfying to own and to drive as my Corvette in 1968, my Stealth in 1989, my Viper in 1999 and it is equal to my most all time best favorite - my 1955 Porsche Speedster, which I loved so much I planned on being buried in until now and now it's my very fine Cherokee Trailhawk. And that's the truth.
(Yes - should you wonder I am old)
