Tread Lightly Confusion over eligibility date?

Hi all,

In a time crunch in trying to replace my totaled Grand Cherokee - joined Tread Lightly on November 14th, letter received from Tread Lightly dated November 20th. I have the certificate with the company code & called Chrysler Affiliate Rewards Program and got the control # from those folks right away.

Yesterday I was at a dealership asking about my eligibility for the 1% discount as I haven't been a member for 30 days - the sales manager said it wouldn't be a problem.

This morning I was on the phone about the group buy in Houston - and the first question I was asked was if I'd been a member for 30 days or more. It really isn't that necessary for me to get the $475-$500 off in this manner as I am a good negotiator - but just confused over when/if I can start using the Tread Lightly membership for the rewards program. How do they check to see if you've been a member for 30 days? Just curious. The email they sent me shows a date of November 14th versus the November 20th date in the letter they sent with informational packet.

Thanks for any help.

Back in April 2012 when I purchased my GC it didnt matter. Mine had to be ordered so by the time it came in 30 days had gone by.

"got the control #"

You should be good to go. Did you tell the folks in Houston that you had the control # already?

Yeah I gave Mark @ River Oaks the details. That's why I asked, I think if you have a control # you may be good to go, but need to make sure before driving or flying a long ways.

Thanks for the feedback.

You will be required to bring the letter with you showing your membership number. Ask Mark as I did and that is what he told me.
What number at Chrysler did you call for Affiliates Reward?
Hope that helps...

I called 888-444-4321 to get my control number, which took about 2 minutes of my time. They were very polite about it.

If you already have the control number for Chrysler...you're good to go. :)

Thanks Jim. I really liked the Harmon Kardon audio system in the Summit - but I am leaning against buying one. I personally did not like the suede headliner and A pillar materials - the one I test drove had black leather plus the suede and the entire cabin was so dark.

I am offering on a '14 GC Overland with advanced tech group and ORA II package - one sold earlier today after I inquired and made an offer on another, that I am waiting confirmation of from the dealership. Been a little bit of a stressful day.

Yea, I understand. The singular thing with the MY14 Summit that sticks in my craw is that both available interiors are "dark"...I'd probably settle for the brown, but I'd really prefer something no darker than I have in my MY12 with the saddle/black interior. Still too much black, but I'm surviving. :)

I hope you score the Overland you want!

Thanks Jim. Late Saturday evening came to agreement with Jeep dealership near Denver on a GC Overland with advanced tech group & the off road II package (looked hard 2 years ago for it and finally found one this time around). Hoping the company code/control # I got from Chrysler works fine, one dealer near me had no problem with it. Driving out early this week to pick it up as soon as I arrange everything.

After nearly a month without my old Jeep - I'm ready to get rolling again soon.
