Double rookie

Hey gents.

New to the forum. I've owned several jeeps in my day as has my family growing up. Flip flop BMW cars and jeeps ...don't ask guess I'm odd ball. Anyhow, I'm new to the DC metro area (specifically Arlington,VA). I am looking for a reputable mechanic to take a look at a used jeep for me as well as rely on in the coming years. I'm short on time and mobile so didn't have a chance to thoroughly search the forums.

I would greatly appreciate and suggestions or just links to other threads if necessary. Thanks guys and I'll be sure to contribute rather than take my next post. Hah

Might want to join the Northern Virginia Jeepers Assoc see Northern Virginia Jeepers Association

One of the better Jeep shops in the area:
37251-H East Richardson Lane
Purcellville, VA 20132
(540) 338-1001

Or

High-Tech Auto & Truck Repair Center

I had BMWs than for 16 years than a Element and now my 2012 WK2. Needed a vehicle that could go off road to haul my herding dogs. BMW has nothing.

Wouldnt buy a BMW now because of the run flats. Dumbest move BMW has made in while. So that leaves Mercedes or Jag.

If you like a particular vehicle enough, what's another $1200 for some new tires? Probably less since the BMW dealer would give these to you at cost (or perhaps less with the RFT's you're giving back to them).

My daily driver went from a 260hp BMW to a 510hp Mercedes AMG and now a '14 Summit. So far so good, but hopefully I don't regret my decision.:)

Problem is where do you put the spare and how do you secure it along with the jack etc.

I guess I'd hedge my bets and pick up a Slime kit with a compressor for $20. The BMW roadside assistance would come out for the first 4 years though :D

I currently have an '05 BMW Z4 3.0 that I switched out the RFT's (and stock wheels) day one. I guess we'll just agree to disagree.
