HID Question.
When I was getting my tires mounted the other day the guy told me I should get some HID's he said they did them and it cost 250 for the setup and install, he was saying you could go blue or white? Obviously i'd go white since I would want a stock look but he didn't really give me any other specifics since I was walking out and he was busy. How hard would it be to get HID's that looked factory, I dont want a rice look. What can I expect for $250, im not sure if thats a good deal or bad or....

Re: HID Question.
I got HID lows and fogs, and relay, with a lifetime warranty on everything for somewhere around $120-$130 shipped from Tony (tcm_glx aka Baja HID).

I bet the guy is going to get a kit off ebay for $50, and install it in about 30 minutes.

Yeah maybe I should find out what brand kit and stuff he is using first. I suck with electrical stuff so I would have to get someone to install it for me.

$250? fawk that. ill do it for $50 lol. but seriously once you decide on which kit to buy, you can DIY with all the info and ppl here to help. I say, get 5-6k for the stock look.

Re: HID Question.
What can you expect for 250.00? About an 80.00 light kit and a nice pat on the back from the install guy as you leave lol.

It just takes about 15 to 20 minutes to do the install correctly yourself, and we have 2 good vendors here that sell the product. I did my install Christmas night in the driveway in the dark in the cold. It's hella easy.

Re: HID Question.
Don't do it if you value your safety and the safety of the other drivers on the road.

If you still want to install a kit, don't get the blue lights since they cause eye fatigue.

Re: HID Question.
after I installed my HID's I had my headlights aligned by the dealership. I have yet to have anybody flash their lights at me at all. Its an easy install and it only took me about an hour for both my lows and fogs.

Re: HID Question.
Yeah I'd go with Tony (TCM GLX) thats what I have. Anything goes wrong here's there to help or replace. And you'll save about $100. or so.

Go no higher than 6k for factory color/look

Re: HID Question.
As far as installing them yourself it's really straight forward and simple. Just did mine and like you I was a little cautious about doing electrical mods. Not a big deal and will probably take you only an hour. The grill comes off by removing the six plastic clips and then you have access to the cross member where you can mount the ballasts. 4300K or 5000K HIDs will give you the closest thing to straight bright white. If you don't like them you can always simply switch back to the halogens.

Re: HID Question.
Thanks for the replys, as of right now im still undecided, im trying to put some money aside for a Superchip and/or chrome door trim. They do look nice though. Do they sell HID fog's? I always drive with mine on (cause I think they look cooler) and i'd like the low's and fog's to match. =)

Re: HID Question.
Tony is a great guy but I went with XENONDEPOT. The ballasts has a built EMI filter that helps with the radio reception for us non-XM/Sirius listeners. Take a look at this thread.

Great customer service and excellent product. I also wanted the factory xenon look so I went with the 4300K series. I also spent the extra $$ for the Philips bulbs. Here are some pics. The fogs are also 4300Ks...
