Lately ive been having problems with my mpg on my car but i also noticed the other day that when i start the car a fuel dial goes down... as if its losing gas everytime i start it... has anybody had this problem before?

what kind of mpg do you get? i started with 17 in the city and now im lucky to get 12 but it fluctuates in my head unit readings.

What do you mean "a fuel dial goes down"? Are you saying that when you start the Jeep the gauge on the dashboard moves around, up/down?

Mine does that a little bit. Just a bit. If you want to help your MPG's those. Oil change, Change Air Filter, Fuel Filter, Spark plugs, Clean the throttle body and put smoe Fuel cleaner in the tank. It should help out a bit.

yeah the head unit seems all inaccurate telling me im getting 11mpg and what i might by goes down as if the car is drinking my gas whenever i start it.

Well the first thing to ask your self is, when was the last time any of those things that paul mentioned was done on your jeep. If you cant answer to any of those then its probably a good idea to start some maintenance on it. Dont forget about the pcv valve also. Thats another CHEAP general maintenance item most overlook. When not functioning properly, will result in buildup of engine sludge and damage over time.

Yeah im not really sure if the last owner did any of that stuff recently.... it all will be done soon. Atleast they took care of it cosmetically..

As for your gas gauge that is something different. I think its the least on your priority list at this point in time. Take care of everything that was mentioned first. Especially use some good fuel injector cleaner in every tank of gas for a few treatments after you get all this done. It will also help clean that engine fuel system.
