Well it's project time season. Update

Well its that time of year again for project so my jeep is going down for some much needed work. The good news is all help to this site it will be one bad aZZ 4.0 WJ 00 Laredo.

So here is what I am starting with. Parts ordered should be here in a few days to start tearing it down. All of things I am addressing while it goes down this far. Not sure if anyone has advice on when I get to it.

So I did my research and I went with some cool stuff that should make a great deal of difference in power before I add the last 3 things to the formula. Last 3 items will be header, chip, last throttle body.

So here is what next Monday will probably look like for me till January.

-4.0 Stroker Head with bigger valves and port job
-New gaskets and rings engine shop is next store so they will assemble
- Crane Cam upgraded cam
-Polished Cosmetically and Ported Intake Manifold/ gold heat shielding on underside
-Address all engine bay stuff while engine is out
-Custom built carbon fiber breather tank (catch tank) currently building to bring to market
-Carbon Fiber valve cover completely replacing the current OEM valve cover
-New redesign of the KN shroud for the intake in carbon fiber. This will be available soon as well with gold heat shielding and holes for carbon fiber catch can.
-A few other items will be made in carbon fiber or will have hydro graphic dipped.

The rest will be interior stuff and exterior stuff in carbon fiber that will be available soon after the new yr. Like windshield cowl and grille 99-03 present until i get an 04. Carbon Fiber mirror overlays and some carbon fiber dash pieces and some accent pieces as I get things done.

I will post pics of all the work for those who want to follow or use this as a guide for 4.0 performance and look. Wish me luck can't wait to show you fellows!

Can you locate a good stroker crank while you have it torn down?
Adds some real beans.

Good call on that valve cover. The factory ones seem to last a few oil changes then start leaking at the rear.

Here is an update of what I have done so far. Been busy getting my business going. The jeep will be the parts getter daily. A lot of things have taken awhile but I worked on it when I could. Got everything clean as I could. A decent scrub and wipe down in the engine bay. Address some previous problems. Worked on fitting some mods that I am working on. Would like input on the project. More pics and post to come. Here is a current mods list that was done to engine. 4.0 stroker head from Titan engines. It included bigger intake and exhaust valves. A thicker casting new springs, performance valve job, and I think the ports are bigger and smoother casting. New pushrods, balanced and flowed injectors, Bosch iridium spark plugs, high volume oil pump, Comp Cam, .030 over pistons. All new seals, bearings and gaskets I got a stainless header that looks pretty good. Just wanted something better than stock since it was out. Almost done with the intake manifold stuff. Did a carbon fiber heat shield to replace the ratty one. Made a carbon fiber injector loom harness. Working on the carbon valve cover. Just finalized everything with that. It will have a carbon baffle built in it will also have a new oil cap system and PVC and crankcase breathers So that's in the works. Here are kinda some progress before and after a Attachment 39654Attachment 39655Attachment 39656Attachment 39657Attachment 39658

More pics. I worked on fitting the radiator air guides and made some ducting for the intake from carbon fiber. Made some nice little low profile carbon fiber mud flaps and exhaust shroud since my bumper melted alittle. Attachment 39659Attachment 39660 . I'll take some more pics as it starts to go back together. A lot of the cf stuff that I am making for the jeep is/will be available just working out some final fitting all stuff is dry carbon vacd oven cured so it's strong and light weight.
