Unconnect 8.4 auto dim?

It seems my display does not dim when the lights go on. It stays in daylight mode and the map is white and as all get out. The only way I can seem to get it dimmed is to manually go in and select "night." Is there a trick to getting it to auto dim? Or is this some sort of software issue? I've gone through all the menus and there does not seem to be anything else relating to the screen lighting.

Leaving mine set to auto, the displays are bright during the day and go to whatever is set on the wheel on the dashboard when the lights come on.

Is your dash illumination switch set to full on? Try turning it down.

check the rotary knob that dim's the interior lights to be sure it is not in the full up position.

Yup. That was it. Didn't connect the two would work together. Thanks all.

Updates to the Cherokee Radios were released a few days ago that might address your issues.

Would this by any chance fix this issue:
If I put my wipers on (intermittent or fully on) after about 15 seconds my EVIC and radio display dim...
As soon as I turn my wipers off the display comes back on at regular brightness.
Anyone else notice this issue?

There is a setting for the headlights to turn on when the wipers are turned on. It takes affect after either 10 or 15 seconds. If your headlights turn on, then your EVIC and radio dims. That's why they go back to normal as soon as you turn the wipers off. Should be a setting to turn the feature on and off in the settings on the radio.

I think the stupidity comes into play because I have the lights set to auto and because it was kinda dark the assumption was they were on... I tested the theory at 5 am and it's all good... Thank you!
