USB/iPod issues

I currently have a 2013 Dodge Dart with the Uconnect 8.4 with Nav/Sat, etc. Since day 1 with this system, any ipod connected through the USB port will cut off every song 3-4 seconds before the end. Looking through the internet forums I've found this to be a fairly common issue, and last time I asked the dealer about it they said they were unaware of it and didn't know how to resolve it.

I know it isn't my ipod because I have connected multiple ipods (from friends), and every single one does it. Plus I have triple checked my settings to make sure it isn't set to do this. When I play my ipod any other way, it doesn't cut the songs off. Can anyone tell me if the Uconnect system in the Cherokee still has this issue?

Thanks!!

The Cherokee runs the same Harmon Kardon Radio platform as the Grand Cherokee and Durango. The Dart runs a Panasonic System I believe??? There is definitely NOT the issue you describe with the Harmon Units.

Edit: according to the TSBs there are some RE/RB Radio fixes and updates... Has your Radio ever rebooted of it's own accord?

I'm not sure what platform the Dart uses, but yeah, there have been a number of occasions where the entire radio/nav system shuts down and restarts.
What is an RE/RB radio fix?
Definitley glad to hear this issue won't be present on the Cherokee. When I first test drove a Dart I brought my iPod just to hear how the audio system sounded, and it cut off the last 4 seconds then too. I just assumed at the time that there was a setting in the sound system to do it.

I would focus on the radio rebooting. There is a specific fix for that and it is replacing the unit which may very well correct the other issue.

Gotcha. Well, I'm trading the Dart in when my Trailhawk finally gets built, so I'll just deal with it for a few more weeks. Thanks for all the info :)

Running a 7th generation Ipod classic with 100gb of music in my 14 Cherokee Limited; works perfectly with both touch and voice commands, use ITunes to insure 100% effectiveness.

Good to hear. I originally had a 30GB iPod classic that I was using in my Dart, and recently upgraded to one of the newer ones. Didn't change the issue I was having with cutting off tracks early though. Can't wait to get my Trailhawk and get rid of this problem lol.

You'll enjoy it for sure, just updated the firmware to gain access to all the free apps, Ipod still works great!

Replacing the 8.4 radio is the only way to fix random booting?? There's no TSB software for that? I would hate to have them fooling with my dashboard.
