My experience with VOTS

I am posting this thread for those who are waiting for their jeep to be delivered and are using VOTS for their tracking information. The following represents my experience with this inaccurate system:
11/5/13 Order placed at dealership
11/11/13 First VOTS notification (Confirmation)
11/12/13 Scheduled for Production
12/2/13 Paint
12/3/13 Shipment
12/16/13 Delivery
Take notice of all the missed steps.
Now, ironically, I wasnt chomping at the bit to get a quick delivery because of unexpected expenses that occurred during that period of time. My attitude during that time was "I get it when I get it." I did choose to log onto VOTS daily just for my own curiosity. Sometimes I would get email notifications from VOTS regarding the changes in status. Other times I would get a change in status without any emails. Bottom line is if you are anxious and need to know exactly what is going on with your order everyday of the build process then obtain it through this website. Otherwise, youre better off just accepting a 6-8 week waiting period.

PS. I havent picked her up yet because I am just under 2 hours away from the dealership and I have to work late each day. Hopefully my job will cut me loose early tomorrow so I can get her from the SRT kennel down here in southwest florida.

Re: My experience with VOTS

I got a good laugh out of VOTS as well. On Sunday (12/8) I checked the status at night for kicks and grins. It said the state was Production Scheduled. A quick check at some point the following morning showed my Jeep was in Final Inspection. That was certainly a quick build! Depending on how accurate the shipping status is, my wheels should be at the dealer by the end of the week.

MOTS is your friend.

I remember when there was a link that worked where you could just change the VIN at the end of the URL and track it yourself from the factory :(

VOTS is typically updated daily but they have been known to fall behind on this as well. MOTS is the only real tracking!

MOTS is the only way to go!
VOTS always lags real time by a lot it seems. Your VOTS experience was the norm for me. When my shipping VOTS e-mail came my Jeep had been on the truck for 36hs to the dealer.
