New '14 GC Overland Owner - Hitch Receiver Plug and ? Part?

Hey All,

Drove home our new '14 GC Overland, 5.7L from the dealership yesterday. So far LOVE IT!

The Rubber Plug for the Hitch Receiver and some unknown plastic thing were in the little pocket on the left of the cargo are.

First, what's up with the extra rubber outline part at the top of the plug. No clue if I'm supposed to cut that piece off, or if it's supposed to be there somehow. Seems that the plug fits the receiver just fine without it and then it's there flopping around on TOP?

Second, can anyone tell me what the other plastic thing is for (On the left in the pic below)

I know I've seen that bracket on the left, but it's too cold out tonight to look for it. The ring connected to the hitch plug holds the plug to the hitch. Really handy when using the hitch so you don't lose the plug.

Dude the rubber square ring on the receiver plug goes around the actual receiver. When the plug is not seated it will just hang on the receiver. Slip the square right over your receiver and then seat the plug. As for the other bit... I'm not sure. When mine was delivered all that was installed. I'll take a look around my receiver tomorrow to see if I can locate the other part mentioned.

That black plastic part on the left is supposed to be attached to the liftgate and acts like a cushion when the liftgate closes. There is one on each side of the liftgate. Are you missing one?

Thanks jacko15 and TonyMontana... I feel stupid for asking, I looked at it for a few more minutes after I posted and figured out how it was supposed to go on.

Yup that's what it is alright... Both the Left and Right little plastic thingy's on the liftgate are in place and accounted for (I didn't even think to look up at the gate). So this must by an "extra" from the factory that I'll tuck away, likely lose and then probably need one in the future and drive myself crazy looking for it!

My wife drove the new GC to work today so I've only had about 30 minutes of quality time with the vehicle so far! :(
