Not starting

99 cherokee sport ran great last night when i parked it went to go out this morning and now it wont start. Checked to c if there was pressure in gas line by turning key on and pushing Schrader valve in only a little bit came out and stopped. If i turn key off and on the same thing will happen. Also check plug with 2 wires going into coil 1 has no power at all and the other only has power only for a couple of seconds while cranking motor over than it looses power. Needless to say when i pulled spark plug out to check for spark there was none. Any thoughts would be appreciated

Re: Not starting

The starter motor cranks the engine normally? Have a look at the auto shutdown relay. You could swap it with an other same relay for testing.
Do you hear the fuel pump running when switching ignition on?

Presuming it cranks normally, you wouldn't have any of those interlocks bothering you.

If it cranks and fires and then shuts down right away, it may not be getting fuel at high enough pressure, which can cause it to shut down because it is trying to avoid a fire due to a fuel leak. Culprits would be the pump, the sensor, or rarely the auto shutdown relay.
