New owner - please help
not sure where to start, already have a problem on my 8 days old Jeep Grand Cherokee 2014. The dashboard is not shutting down, stays on after I switch off the engine.

any idea?

Even after you open the door and step out?

By chance were you on the phone? If I am in a call and turn the vehicle off and get out,the dash stays energized and the phone connected.

Does it time out after a minute or so?

Re: New owner - please help
I think it may be normal it stays on sometimes. If you walk back out and look at it after 10 mins from when you parked it... and do not have your keyfob on you... it should be off. Washed my jeep with my keyfob in my coat pocket Thursday and depending on where I was around the jeep it would flash the lights and the dash would light up. Proximity type of sensor I assume. But I have noticed my dash lights do stay on sometimes when I get out after parking. Call your dealer if they do not shut off and ask them about it.

Re: New owner - please help
When the engine is shut down and you exit the vehicle the electronics take a moment to "go to sleep" mode. Just as the dash will "wake up" if you touch the door handle with a fob in your pocket. If it doesn't go to sleep after about 20-30 seconds of no activity, then something is wrong.
