Back Up camera installation problem
Hello I am trying to install a back up camera to my 04 Jeep GC laredo with a pioneer P1400 dvd installed the back up cam is a Crimestopper SV 5420 IR C everything works great but when I switch gears the in dash won't switch automatically I need to do it manually. Here's how I have it connected.

Positive lead from camera to back up light
Negative from camera to a good source on chassis
Yellow RCA to back of double din
Then ran a cable from the double din (purple/white) to the reverse light but it won't work and only has a black screen. The wire I am connecting it to is a purple/white from the light harness. Settings are set to back up camera off and polarity to battery.

Re: Back Up camera installation problem
The positive lead should go to an "Accessories On" power point. Pick a wire that is hot when the vehicle is in ACC or RUN. You have it run to the reverse light, and that is not correct.

The purple/white should run to a source that is hot with the reverse lights are on. If you ran it back to the reverse light you should be okay.

Set the backup camera to on.

Re: Back Up camera installation problem
He Guys If that solve your problem ??? I have the same issue and I would like to know that's work for you so i can hook up mine in the same way. I heard that positive cable from my taillights carries the positive (RED) of the camera and also the (purple/White) cable. Both on the same connection. That is Correct ???? Thank you
