2014 Cruise Control Message

I doubt this is an issue, but it is a little confusing.

When I enable my cruise control, I get a message on the EVIC indicating that Cruise Control is ready and the white CC icon shows up. Then when I set a speed, the little white CC icon on EVIC goes green indicating a speed is set. Sounds normal.

However, when I read through the manual, it indicates that the display should show a message indicating what speed the cruise control is set to. This doesn't show up on my car at all.

Is this normal? Has anyone else observed this discrepancy between the manual and the actual display? I ask because I think it'd be hugely helpful to actually show the speed at which the CC is set.

I don't think my July build Overland goes green. But it DOES show the speed that the cruise is set for.

General consensus is that you get the set speed displayed only if you have the adaptive cruise control option.

My Jeep behaves like yours.

Ah OK thanks guys. That kinda sucks for long trips, though.

+1 - and same experience here without adaptive cruise

?!
If the cruise control is working, I take it your speedometer is totally broken?

The reason the speed is there for the ACC is that if the vehicle in front of you turns, your vehicle will speed up to that set speed.

Thanks, but I have an Overland without ACC. I only have the conventional CC. The reason I ask is because the manual states the speed reading should be there for regular CC but I may have misread it or it may be a typo.

Green is displayed for regular cruise control and the actual speed and distance setting is displayed for ACC.

Re: 2014 Cruise Control Message

The manual actual states it should it under the Electronic Speed control section, not just the ACCC section which comes after it.
If the manual is correct, we should see it without the advanced tech pack.

To Set A Desired Speed
Turn the Electronic Speed Control ON. When the vehicle
has reached the desired speed, press the SET (+) or SET
(-) button and release. Release the accelerator and the
vehicle will operate at the selected speed. Once a speed
has been set a message CRUISE CONTROL SET TO
MPH/KM will appear indicating what speed was set. An
indicator CRUISE will also appear and stay on in the
instrument cluster when the speed is set.

This is the one thing that surprised the hell out of me, not getting a confirmation of set speed considering all the other flashy info it is prepared to tell me.

Yeah it just sounds like an unimplemented feature or typo on the manual.

I messed around with the cruise control on the way home tonight and the speed it's set to shows for both ACC and regular CC. I have the advance tech package, so it could be different on a model with just the standard cruise.

In a thread elsewhere it was said that in requires the Advance tech package for this to work.
