New member here patiently awaiting a 2014 V6 Citadel AWD from the factory. After initial break-in, are you getting close to the government fuel economy numbers? Thanks!

Yup, pretty much spot on.

Since we picked up our R/T 2 weeks ago, we've driven it about 1400 miles as we had a lot of trips to make due to family emergency and such (long story). Anyway, we averaged about 20 mpg after the break-in period and that has held up. The real-time MPG computer as we're driving says about 23-25 going 60-65 mph on the freeway or, in our case, country road with 55 mph speed limit. At 80 mph, it drops to 20. Not a lot of city driving in that mileage, but overall mileage so far is 20 mpg on this latest tank per the computer. We have the AWD version so we're actually getting about 2 mpgs better than the EPA estimate. And this is with cold weather and winter blend gas here in Michigan. I'm very happy.

Impressive - I am averaging 18 combined. 1900 miles as of today.

Just barely at 1,000 miles, so far. Averaging just shy of 14mpg -- almost all city or short-distance driving. That's in the range that my Honda Ridgeline got.

HOWEVER, I forgot to add that mine is a V8 Citadel with the HEMI.

We're in the low 14's as well with mainly city driving, but some highway. We're at 1200 miles and it's a '14 Citadel Hemi AWD. Fuel grade doesn't seem to affect it. I'm sure the mileage will increase. Right now it's not that much better than our SRT8 we traded in. :slapfight:

Hopefully, you're slapping your Significant Other, and not me. 14mpg is not my fault! :)

My boss drives an SRT8 Jeep Grand Cherokee and HATES the gas mileage. He likes most everything else. But the front tires are making some weird road noise he says that they can't figure out -- as if they are wearing badly.

Re: Mpg

SRT8's are hard on front tires. My 2008 had tread separation up front on both sets. Goodyear replaced them twice. There's a lot of HP combined with a high amount of weight going through those front tires on them. Part of the reason why the turning radius is so terrible. Jeep limits the turning radius to reduce the chance of breaking front axles when having the wheels turned and stabbing the throttle.
