Diesel filter, electronic throttle control and egibe malfunction

I have recently purchased (Dec 2013) an MY14 WK2 Jeep Grand Cherokee diesel. It has less than 1300km on the odometer. Today a message and a number of warning lights were activated when driving approx. 5km across town. The message on the EVIC stated that the diesel filter was nearly full and to safely drive at highway speeds to clear the problem. The electronic throttle control (ETC) light on the EVIC then started flashing and the engine malfunction light came on. The vehicle then went into limp mode. Jeep Assist has since had the vehicle transported to a dealer to be sorted. I will say that Jeep Assist (Australia) were very helpful. Is this a known or common problem and is it easily fixed? Sorry about 'engine' spelling in thread title

Re: Diesel filter, electronic throttle control and egibe malfunction

rmal, and it shouldn’t be, the warning should come on and give you time to induce regen of the DPF filter.
See this thread.

And from this post yesterday - http://www.jeepgarage.org/f107/2014-...tml#post961929

As per my response to that post, raise an official complaint with Jeep Assist, or customer care what ever they are.
The programming for the warning is wrong for Aus and maybe all export.

You should be warned in time to prevent limp mode.

Out of curiosity, do you fill up with bio diesel?

hi Iboughtajeep
No I certainly would not use biodiesel. As the jeep came with a full tank of fuel from the dealer i have only had to add fuel the one time and since I had an 8 cents a litre Coles discount voucher I filled at the local Coles Shell station. I very frequently filled there with my previous Jeep (2003 JGC Limited 2.7L diesel) without any problems.
