Temperature light not registering sometimes. Software issue?
So i've driven my traihawk about 4200km and started to notice some minor problems. Sometimes when i'm driving the temperature light comes on but doesn't say if its to hot or cold, just a blank screen. So far i've just had to restart the vehicle and the light goes off. Also, the outside temp gauge seems to be broken. It got really cold here one night, like -50 Celsius and ever since then it just stays at -39 even though its not that cold out. I'm thinking its a software issue and was curious if anyone else was having this issue.
Re: Temperature light not registering sometimes. Software issue?
I had issues with mine giving me a false "ENGINE OVERHEATED" warning when I was driving in -30*C temps after having it plugged on a block heater timer (about 2 hrs before leaving) in my attached, but unheated/uninsulated 2 car garage. When I pulled over, shut it off and immediately restarted it, the actual engine temp was 88*C according to the EVIC. I took it in after it did it 3 days in a row and on the third day finally set a check engine light. Dealer says Jeep is aware of the problem and it is a software issue, not a part failure in my case.
