2400 miles long roadtrip on brand new 2014? Possible???

Hello, My 2014 has less than 400 miles on it and a family trip is coming up during school winter break. from NY to FL.
I am planning to do 1st oil change between 500 to 1000 miles But this trip is making me to delay 1st oil change until i come back, with around 3000 miles on odometer. First of all, is it OK to take my jeep to this loooong drive????( i mean extended highway driving ) and secondly, would it be ok if i wait till i come back for 1st oil change?
I am just concerned because i have never taken brand new car for long drive such as this one with just under 400 miles...

Thanks.

you will be fine, below is the recommended break in from the manual. make sure to get in those occasional full throttles that they recommend. if it were me I would also stay off of the cruise control for extreme extended periods very early in the vehicles life like that, varying the rpms is good sitting at the exact same rpm for 1000 miles on cruise control not as good so early. either way though you will be fine cars are just not as sensitive as they used to be to this. follow the below as best you can and then just drive it.

ENGINE BREAK-IN RECOMMENDATIONS
A long break-in period is not required for the engine and
drivetrain (transmission and axle) in your vehicle.
Drive moderately during the first 300 miles (500 km).
After the initial 60 miles (100 km), speeds up to 50 or
55 mph (80 or 90 km/h) are desirable.
While cruising, brief full-throttle acceleration within the
limits of local traffic laws contributes to a good break-in.
Wide-open throttle acceleration in low gear can be detrimental
and should be avoided.

Have a good trip, your vehicle has a nice 5 year 100k powertrain warranty. Dont worry about it!

Fly you will be there in 2 hours and get a free beverage on the plane. You will also keep all those miles off your jeep and won't have to worry about poor road conditions.

I would... If I'm driving a thousand miles and traffic is moving at 25 mph because of snow and ice that could really slow you down.

I took my '11 Overland Hemi for a 3000 mile road trip when it was virtually new, about 500 miles as I recall. Most was interstate, I used the cruise, but varied the speed from time to time on long stretches. Did wide open throttle when on on-ramps. Have had no problems whatsoever with the power train, and do not have any oil consumption problems some hemi owners have experienced.

Friends... Thank you for suggestions... I did some research as well, and it seems like Jeep has some kinda break-in oil from factory, and i should not change it very soon, so after the trip should be fine...we are really looking forward to enjoy the jeep, and the trip. And my kids cant wait to be at disney. As one member said , to fly there, i searched different airlines and the fare for 4 ppl is between 1600 to 2000, PLUS i will have to rent a SUV or mini van once we reach there.I searched and its aroung 350 to 500 for a week. so this option is way over our budget. Mapquest says, 180 dollars gas each way maybe (200) each way in our Jeep. Its a lease and i got 42000 miles to do in 42 months.and i do about 10k miles / year. I would not use cruise control, and will give it some gas sometimes.

Have you done this drive previously? You will be glad you have cruise control, especially in Georgia! There is no reason not to use it.
BTW, when dealers trade individual new cars (up to about 300 miles away), they drive them there like they stole them.

I can second this, as I used to be a delivery driver for dealer- trade vehicles. It didnt matter if it was a BRAND NEW (less than 50 miles) CTS-V, Vette, whatever it was... I drove the piss out of them between dealerships :) Enjoy your ride!!
