2014 5.7 Muffler and resonator delete

Guys

I currently deleted my resonators and replaced the suitcase with a magnaflow suitcase. Sounds good but I get a weird farting bog in sport mode only when it shifts between 1-2, 2-3 gear. No leaks, nothing? Not sure wtf. Not crazy about any of the cat backs I have heard either. However I noticed it doesn't happen on them from what I heard. So I am thinking it just must be the application of the magnaflow suitcase I guess?

I am thinking of removing the magnaflow suitcase and replacing it with a magnaflow xpipe and run with no muffler and resonators. Probably will sound pretty mean. I had a c6 with billy boat bullets and it sounded like an animal. I'm thinking it will probably have a similar sound?

Do you think I will throw any codes or have an increase or decrease in power?

Hoping maybe the fart/bog is maybe from the MDS. I just ordered the diablo tuner so I will shut it off and see what happens.

MDS isn't active in sport mode. Define what you mean by "bog"...,

It really depends. Ive seen a number of 5.7's make the fart on each shift and I've seen a few 3.5h.o. v6's do it too. It may have something to do with how fast the transmission shifts. It usually happens on the slower shifting ones

Ya know that's what it seems like cuz it doesn't happen in normal mode even with Eco off. But in sport that shifts quicker n harder it does. Maybe the diablo will fix it??

Had a 300 str8. Farted at upshift full throttle only, peak rpms. Diablo changed shift points and air/fuel curves and stopped the fart noise. Noticed it in my 14 5.7 but much quieter/fainter stock exhaust. If it fixed it on the 300, it might fix it for the jeep.

That is EXACTLY what's going on! Thx. Will keep all in the loop. Tuner is on it's way

Although it would sound good, running no mufflers and resonators would definitely kill your fuel economy and probably give you a decrease in power due to removing back pressure from the exhaust. My best guess to your issue is that your suitcase isn't the correct size.

Back pressure is a myth. Im running catless with a full flow thru exhaust and I picked up 8-10 mpg high way. The biggest reason for the loss in mpg is the driver wanting to hear the exhaust.

The "decrease" your referring to is the power band being shifted a little higher into the rpm range, but you gain more power from the mid range up. There is no loss of power, it is just moved. But there is many factors that are at play. Piping size, muffler type, headers vs manifolds. That is what plays into a good exhaust setup vs an awesome one. Power becomes maximized thru tune and intake setup.
