Adaptive Cruise Control - Car distance ?

Hey everyone,

The distance to the car ahead of me is set to minimum (where the car's rear bumper shows in the settings). Even though the distance is set to minimum, I feel the car leaves a wider gap than it should. Can anyone confirm this ?

I would say your gap is what mine does when I have it set to the largest gap. I did the close gap today and was basically one care length behind. Something is not right based on your pics

Had a feeling something is up. My car leaves more than a (1 car) distance for sure. At what speed where you travelling ? Was on the highway travelling at 120kph when I took these pics.

Does the gap change with speed ?

The gap doesn't change with speed. I was set to the smallest gap and it maintained it from 70 mph down to 15mph. I am really beginning to like it for heavy traffic situations. Hope you have good luck getting it sorted out.

Thank you, I hope so too.

Btw when you adjust the distance, what figure does ACC show you ? You have 3 bars for longest distance, 2 bars, 1 bar, then 1 bar with a car's rear (which is my settings atm).

Also, the SRT doesn't have the STOP and GO function right ?

**EDIT**

Just saw this video : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=II5-25Vy6Kw
He puts the closest distance towards the end of the video and the distance between him and the car is similar to what my pics show. However this is a 2012 GC, so not sure if the tech has changed.

Can anyone please help me with this ?

The acc at closest setting is about 2.5 or 3 car lengths. too far in my opinion as a car can easily slip in. Yours seems like 4 or 5 which means something needs to go to the shop

SRT does not have stop and go. You are correct.

What about these ? I think ACC depends on speed.

The first 2 pics show the spacing when the closest distance option is used while going at around 40-50kmh. The last pic shows the spacing when I'm driving at around 120-130kmh.

What do you guys think ? Are these distances normal ? I would really appreciate if someone can take a pic or two whenever they get a chance.

Thanks for the confirmation

Another test :

Is the space between my car and the one in front normal for such settings ?

Why is there a circle next to your speed display that says 120km/h? What does that mean?

My set speed limit. What's your thoughts on my issue ?
