Interior Dash Lights *Just about given up*

Interior dash lights IE: temp cluster. I have a partial blackout, changed the cluster, changed the fuse. I'm at a loss. Useless at this point for me to keep beating myself up. Any bright ideas?

I had the same problem on my '06 WK, but it was still under warranty.

If yours is, make it the stealer's problem. They just replaced my entire temp cluster.

No go there bro, stationed in Germany. All my work has to be DIY

Its the bulbs in the head units, VERY VERY common failure. There is one illumination power to the unit so if some bulbs work, your power is good to the control head.

We once had a regular member/vendor who repaired these, his shop burnt down and that was the begining of the end, he still does/did it a bit afterwards. I had him perform a repair for me and he did great work, it looked factory in the unit when I got it back. I dont know his methods, what supplies he used to perform the repair, but it was great. Some have used LED's but you would need a resistor in series to ensure they operate properly, its not easy to get an OE quality repair.

I'm interested in changing it over to LED I assume that would be the most cost effective over time. I'll need to do some research into the wiring first. Heck, I guess I could opt for a colored diode while I'm at it. Give it a red, black out, appearance. Right now I'm in the process of re-wiring the passenger door (an idiot at the body shop some years ago didn't understand press the button on the wire harness not just pull as hard as you can) and trying to adjust the moon roof ( turns out my conversion from meters to inches was off and car parks in Germany are much smaller than I had planned.) If you could steer me in the right direction for research I would be much obliged.
