Red lights everywhere

Suddenly had the Malfunction indicator and the electronic throttle control lights come on and the evic says "exhaust system service required - see your dealer now".

Jeep assist has arranged a tow. Is this a common issue?

thanks for any advice

Re: Red lights everywhere

it is a far too frequent occurrence with the MY14's.

Re: Red lights everywhere

sounds like my problem i had yesterday...

http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum...5715&p=32#r628

took it to the dealer today (monday am)... did a dpf regen cleared codes and i'm back on the road, but seriously this regen problem needs to be fixed.

i was lucky that when i went into limp mode on a sunday am on the motorway , the motorway was relatively clear of traffic, because i was stuck at 60kph in 3rd gear. could have been rammed in the arse dropping from 100->60 on a weekday

Yes it's an my13 trailhawk. Does the Dpf issue apply to the my13?

Not that we have seen. It seems to be only related to the MY14's.

Fatboy 02-10-2014 11:30 PM

Well, looks like MY13s have this problem too. After the dealer did the regen all seems ok now. He tells me that the evic is supposed to warn when the filter is reaching capacity - no warning in my case. No I just have to drive everywhere at exactly 2500 rpm.

Who designs this crap?

Yep, either poor programing or some sensors are dodgy.....

Fatboy 02-15-2014 07:49 AM

Hmm, 2500 rpm - in 5th gear, that's about 125kph, last time I checked, that was a bit above the speed limit. Do I need to go to the Northern Territory to trigger a regen, or is there some flexibility about the engine speed?

Re: Red lights everywhere

You could lock it into a lower gear.
